Absolutely delicious. I had the privilege of meeting the owner once a long time ago and he told me of about alot of the special peppers and other ingredients that him and his wife bring over personally from China. About as authentic as it can get!

Nice service and big portions of food. The dishes are authentic, even though the owner are not from Sichuan. I lost my scarf there but luckily found it again. Especially the dumplings are super good. Only problem is finding a good place for parking

Mama Ji's is great for weekend brunch for a couple or with a few friends. Usually quick seating and fast service. I feel like I've been here over 20 times as my wife loves it. Tasty dumplings and noodles and something for everyone. Can bit a bit tight seating and loud but the food is fantastic!

Have visited this restaurant a few times never given them a review before. The place is always busy and reservation is recommended. Excellent food no complains yet. Just didn't get the best of services today. The server was just not available to help us with anything. I still enjoyed the food and would recommend for sure.

Perfect place for a tasty supper after a late arrival in San Francisco . Shared: Dumplings , fried chicken with green beans and pumpkin stuffed dumpling dessert washed down with tasty draught beer 👍

Food was delicious, but it was pretty loud. So if you want to have a conversation...wait for when it's not very crowded.

Always in love with this restaurant, not only their foods, but also the decoration is extremely awesome. My favorite items here are shrimp dumplings, pot stickers, hot numbing fish, turnip cake. All the foods are well cooked and healthily made.

This place is Dim Sum magic. Every steamed dumpling I had felt like the best version of that dumpling. The menu is extremely approachable. For small groups I preferred it over the cart service. You get everything you want at about the same time. Also service is great, and the place is has a comfortable neighborhood feel.

I've never been to a Chinese restaurant with a small menu but I think that a small menu is also key to a good restaurant. How can perfect 50 dishes? At most, people will only enjoy 5-8 of those dishes.

Pretty American saucy stuff but some dishes are great. Try the dry hot chicken and the cold noodles! Saturday dim sums are good too!

Great, authentic Sichuan food with a wide range of vegan and vegetarian options available. Highly recommend the fish-flavoured eggplant and Madam Chen's (mapo) tofu.

Loved the Beijing chicken and eggplant and the vegetarian noodles with chilli bean paste. Heard on good authority that the "spicy fish" was delicious.

Found this place through Google Maps, which recommended it as one of dumpling(!) places to try. But after we sat down and looked at the menu, we realized this was more of a dim sum place. From 5 dishes we had, we especially liked the Vegetarian Spicy Cold noodle (a bit salty tho!), Cilantro Shrimp dumplings and the Flowery Egg custard...If you're in the neighborhood, give it a try; but to only go there and try it out (that's what we did, as I was craving for dumpling) is not worth it. There are better dim sum places with cheaper price throughout the City.

The dim sum is just incredible. You can't go wrong. Then you add one of the more extensive Belgium beer selections in the Bay Area, it's a brunch match made in heaven for me. The only negative I have: I wish they had a spicier chili/hot sauce option. I'm certainly no crazy spice chaser, but I like a little kick, and the chili sauce they have just has no kick.

If you’re craving spicy Sichuan food, this is the place. They also have the all-time favorites, such as dumplings and sweet-and-sour pork. The place has a casual vibe and service was attentive. Prices are mid-range.

7 pm on a Sunday night was very full but no wait. Vegetarian spring rolls and pot stickers both had 3 per order, which we thought was a little small. Szechuan beef even at medium heat was a bit to much for me, but folks who like hot food should really enjoy it. Small restaurant with hard surfaces was noisy and hard to hear conversation.

Good schezuan food. The Chongqing chicken was crispy and spicy, and the country pork was excellent as well. Noodles with spicy bean paste were comforting but less exciting than the other dishes we tried.A few tables around us seemed to think dishes were too spicy, but for me the level of spice was just right. It was spicy, but not 'burn your mouth and make you sweat' spicy, and was about in line with what you expect when you go to a schezuan place. And the spicy dishes were clearly marked on the menu. The service was friendly and attentive as well. It's probably a 4 star place, but San Fran lacks good Schezuan places so I'm bumping it up to a 5.

Had dinner here to celebrate Chinese New Year's Eve. Dumplings were fantastic! Would come back for more. 👍🍺 and 🍷 selection is excellent. Especially compared to other Chinese restaurants. Had a nice Belgian IPA. Ordered four vegetarian dishes and they were all good. Very spicy. Tofu was excellent. Another table ordered the mapo tofu and I would try that next time! 😀Overall, had a great dinner.

Overall, quality food. Bbq pork-filled rice wrappers are great, as are shao bao long dumplings. Turnip also good. My significant other is Vietnamese and approved :) Just a bit slow service, and some minor things like not giving us soup spoons for soup dumplings.

I love this place, you pretty much can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Lots of spicy food but enough delicious non spicy options (looking at you chicken mushroom clay pot) to make a fine meal. Friendly service, chill atmosphere, not too noisy for this old person. A local treasure.

Chow mein, pot stickers, and egg custard bun are great. BBQ pork bun was too pasty and sweet inside. The Xiao long bao weren't soupy inside the first time I came, but the second they were plump and amazing! Make sure to pour the vinegar sauce into them mixed with the ginger they provide.

Don't see the reason for their good ratings on Google. Food is mediocre just like the service. If you can get passed the flys circling and hovering around the bar / beers on draft... You can stomach the food. Dishes are kind of bland. Portions are somewhat stingy. Steamed and pan fried dumplings are just OK. The chicken and eggplant was salty saturated in oyster sauce. Beef and green beans was decent with a lot of onions. Location is secluded from the rest of the Castro which is nice and neighborly.

This is a really more than decent place, it's so wonderful to come to since the workers there are very respectful; accommodating and generous. That's what I like about going there first, then of course the food is delicious..cooked just the right way. So I had to give it 5 stars!!

The place was ok. The dumplings were good but not the noodles in my opinion. It's kind of sweet and I find it odd.

You'll need to add soy sauce because they dont season the food. Pricey compared to other such establishments. The rice rolls were great.
